cleats
I've been doing intermurals at my school since freshman year. It could be flag football, soccer or just ultimate frisbee for fun. During my entire first 3 years. I had decided not to buy a pair of cleats to play in, I was just a lame-o that had running shoes that slipped all over the place. Well, today I finally bought a pair to play in. I got in these puppies and boy did they make a difference. I then realized that I must have been lucky to play as well as I had without cleats. I went all out on buying these pairs of shoes. Went to multiple stores and spared no expense on what were going to be on my feet. $15 for these amazing feet covers.

Sidewalk Prophets!!
After going to chapel for 4 years, they have had 2 actual singers. Today we were able to have Sidewalk Prophets give us a concert for chapel this Tuesday. I guess they wanted to start off Homecoming week with a bang.
The funny thing is, I had woken up a little early this morning and then went back to sleep. During that sleep I had a dream I was in chapel listening to the concert. For some reason I had a pillow with me, and I was using the pillow to cover my laptop light(I don't have a laptop) so as not to get caught, because I was on the internet updating my blog about the concert I was in. I they fell asleep on the pillow and woke up a minute before my alarm went off.

Drivin' Home
Well, I had a wonderful time with my sister and her family. But school starts on the flip side and I need to get home. After, my successful mid-drive break last time. I repeated the process but elsewhere. I stopped at the National Corvette Museum and at the Mammoth Caves in Kentucky. I would have loved to of actually went on a tour and explored a cave, but sadly if I did that I would fell even lamer than just driving alone. Also, I wanted to get home and be done with driving. So I cut it short and just explored a bit more and saw this creepy old (probably haunted) house, which begged to have its picture be taken of and put on the net. So there you have it my spur of the moment trip to Murfreesboro, TN.

Grovin' for a Cure
What a magnificent day for the walk. The theme was the 70s. Complete with a band, awesome music, free food and a rock wall. This was the lead singer. What a great person. He kept the crowd entertained with his awesome dancing jokes and great lyrics. They played the classic songs and had everyone on their feet dancing and having a blast!! Boy does he look great in those tights.

Road Trip.
I am off on a weekend trip to Tennessee to support my niece at a walk for diabetes. It is a 6 hour drive that I am making solo. So I was quite bored driving alone with no one to talk to. How lame. So to spice things up a little bit I stopped at places along the way to add some fun to the drive. Quite possibly the best idea ever!! I had lots of fun and even though it would have been much more fun with someone else. I would recommend everyone to live a little sometime and not be afraid to step out of the box they live in.
Today, on the way south I stopped in Elizabeth town and looked at some of the old places. This is the town that has a movie's title named after it.

Library
After having two weeks to due a 750 word paper. I finally start reading what it is over and writing it the night before it is due. After spending 4 hours attempting to do work I managed to get 200 words done.
I think my way of working isn't very effective though. Reading a totally unrelated book, napping in a chair and then taking a 15 min bike ride around campus probably didn't help either. Not to mention starting a conversion with everyone that I know. All in all very productive evening.

Drivers!!!
As I was on my way to class, driving along 8th st. I saw this wonderful accident. It is a marvelous example of the skill of many of the drivers in America. I am sure that at least one of the cars involved was parked at the time of collision. And yes, there are 3 cars that was damaged. I was lucky that there was a stop light that allowed me to get at least this picture. Would have been grand if I was able to get one with some tangled metal.

Rainbow Camp
This is the place that we go each year to finish our rush week. Nothing is more relaxing than camping after a hard days work. But for us, no one particularly wanted to stay at the place they were going to have us sleep. They shacks were not very much better than the place you can see me and Tindall working on in the picture. They had us thatching the roof. Which you can see how amazing of a job we are doing.

Lame
What a pitiful day. Woke up to it raining outside and put a huge damper on the mood. Figured it was a good day as any to catch up on some homework. So, I spent the entire day in my dorm, watching movies and doing the occasional problem. I did manage to fit a nap in there due to a suggestion from a friend. Thanks!

Favors
Sometime at the beginning of the year I had lent out my flash drive to a friend. Well after he used it, we had tried numerous times to get it back to me. Whenever he would bring it to something I was never there or he wouldn't remember to have it with him if I was. Well in my computer class I have a dire need to have things saved to a flash drive. There are some very geeky tech guys at the school and I believe that they may have procured one for me. The reason I say this is because last class they looked around for one and couldn't find anything and when I got to class today it was there sitting prettily on my table.

Odd Ball
Today was a day to be remembered. Whats better than getting a package in the mail. But this day it was strictly a book day. You get excited on the chance that someone else had sent you something even though you ordered the book to come. But this was not the only book I got today. The other one I had to pick up from the person. It was worth it though. It even appears as though this person left notes in the book that will help me get through the class.
Now about the picture, this was the frozen pizza that I made for lunch today. I found it quite strange. Never before have I seen a clump of cheese this huge.

Caramel
If you don't know anything about me then you should be informed on this little tidbit. I thoroughly enjoy baking. Cookies, pies, brownies and monkey bread all have known my touch. Each of them have made lasting memories to those lucky enough to have been graced with my food. I recently have come across a new recipe that somehow supercedes my previous cookie recipe.
Well the key ingredient is obviously the chips and the cookies I wanted to make required caramel bits. I had a little bit of difficulty finding these. I went to 3 different stores looking for just one package of something caramel. Once I did manage to locate the store that stocked them, they only had one left on the selves. I was so excited, it was almost as though the heavens wanted me to make them. These cookies are going to be fabulous and someone will enjoy each and every one that they will consume.

Labor Day!
I think this was my first labor day volleyball tournament I was in, definitely the last. It was a gorgeous day, sunny and very comfortable. The only thing is, was how long it was between games. Took forever for our first game and even longer before we got the second one in. With the first 3 hours there we had played one game. Then we, but after that we were able to get our next 2 games in the last hour I was there.
My team had some people that I'm sure had never touched a volleyball before. We managed to sneak a win with the first game. But afterwards our luck ran out. We won 1 and lost the next 2. I did manage to get a free lunch though. That was nice :)

Dinner
I wanted to get the year started off right. So I went to church. Little did I know what was in store for me. Once it started they had hymns to begin with, which I am not personally a fan of. And after which played more songs that droned on that really weren't exciting. During the service which I was thoroughly enthralled with, I was found out that the average age of the congregation looked to be about 65. I think that a few of them where probably 4-5 times older than me.
Now, on to the main part of my day. I finally got my first book today. I'm borrowing it from one of my awesome friends. Well, instead of just meeting him and leaving we choose to get something to eat also. We found this cute restaurant called Noodles & Company. It was a very nice place. I had the spaghetti & meatballs with a root beer to wash it down. The meatballs were ginormous. I had a tough time eating all of it. The food was great though, and the drink was very satisfying. I had meant to take the picture once I got it but my hunger had overcome my thinking and I neglected to take it. This is the what was leftover.

Windy
I decided to get outside today and read my book. After about 5 minutes of reading I had an incredible urge to climb trees. Well that is precisely what I did. After 2 mediocre climbs I went for a tuff one.
This was a tall tree. I had to shimmy up about 10 feet and then quickly grab hold of a branch with one hand unless I was to fall. I scrapped my legs and arms on the way up, which left a slew of marks. For the first time ever I carved my initials in a tree. I left it as a mark to whomever may climb that tree that they were not the only one. You can tell from the picture through the trees that my perch was higher than most other trees in the area.
One thing you notice while in a tree is how much they sway with the wind. A few times it become real windy and I hugged the tree to make sure that I didn't fall. Also, I don't think there were any ninja squirrels in this tree, at least any more.

This is the start of my final here at AU. This place is what I will be calling home for the next 8 months. I have lived here once before but this year will definitely be different. 2 roommates that I don't really know, and an agenda to get out and live. I've got a biker gang to look forward to joining and no track. Bring it on world. I'm ready!

Now I only need to find a nice leather jacket and a gang to join and then I will be set. Watch out world, Bad A' AJ is coming. Be on the lookout. Spring 2011.
